1975年、ロンドンでSteve Harris(Ba)が中心となり結成されたイギリスの代表的なヘヴィメタルバンド。 1980年代初頭にイギリスで巻き起こった新しいヘヴィメタルの潮流NWOBHM（New Wave Of British Heavy Metal）ムーヴメントの代表的バンドとされる。1980年代から1990年代初頭におけるヘヴィメタル・ブームの立役者でもあり、全英チャートでは4枚のアルバムを第1位に送り込み、ゴールドディスク・プラチナムディスクも多数授与されるなど、ヘヴィメタル・バンドでは最も成功しているバンドのひとつである。バンド名は、中世ヨーロッパの拷問器具「鉄の処女」に由来する。 初期にはハードロックに強く影響されながらも、Paul Di'Annoの歌唱法のようにパンクロックの荒々しさを取り入れたサウンドを身上としており（ただし、Steve Harrisはパンクを嫌っており、影響を明確に否定している）、NWOBHMの黎明期からシーンの牽引力として同時期の代表格バンドとなった。 3rdアルバム『The Number Of The Beast』では、前任者よりはるかに広い声域を持つヴォーカリストのBruce Dickinsonが加入し、メロディアスかつ整合性を重視する傾向が強まった。以降はパンクの要素、殊にストレートなアプローチが大きく減少し、豊かな展開と流麗なギターワークを主軸とした音楽性に固定化が図られる。Dave Murray・Adrian Smith・Janick Gersら看板ギタリスト三人が揃い踏みとなった編成でより重厚なサウンドとなっている。 プレイにおける特徴としては、まずベースがアンサンブルを牽引する、ないしベースが中核として構築される特異なスタイルが挙げられる。強力な2フィンガー奏法によるペンタトニックスケールを基本としたフレーズや3連譜を主体とするソロによって組み立てられたSteveのプレイは後述するギターの構成の補強のみならず、Steve自身の存在感を強くアピールしている。ギターにおいてはザクザクと刻むリフや、叙情的で勇壮なツイン・リードのコンビネーションなどが共通しており、時に過剰なほどにインタープレイが盛り込まれもする（必然的にリフを担当するプレイヤーが不在となるため損なわれる低音の音圧をSteveが補うことで可能となる）。ヘヴィ・メタルの性質上総じてアップテンポな楽曲が多い反面、リーダーでメイン・ソングライターのSteveがGenesisのファンであることを公言しており、プログレッシヴ・ロックの影響を受けていることから、複雑な展開と執拗に変化するテンポを盛り込んだ長尺の楽曲も多い。 逆に7thアルバム『Sevens Son Of A Sevens Son』以降のアルバムにおいては、歌詞の面で同じフレーズを多用するようになり、歌詞の長さが短くなる傾向にある。 CDの世界総売り上げは8,500万枚以上。 Current members (リーダーはSteve Harris) Bruce Dickinson – lead vocals (1981–1993, 1999–present) Steve Harris – bass, backing vocals, studio keyboards (1975–present) Dave Murray – guitar (1976–present) Adrian Smith – guitar, backing vocals (1980–1990, 1999–present) Nicko McBrain – drums, percussion (1982–present) Janick Gers – guitar (1990–present) .

Oxxxymiron (real name Miron Yanovich Fyodorov) is a Russian and British hip-hop artist. His style combines grime, battle rap-influenced hardcore hip-hop and alternative/abstract hip-hop. Oxxxymiron was born in Leningrad, USSR (now St. Petersburg, Russia) in 1985 in Jewish-Russian family, his father was a physicist, and his mother was a librarian. In 1994 his family moved from Russia to Germany, where his father got a job, and in 2000 to the UK. Iron Man evolved from earlier Alfred Morris III projects Force and Rat Salad. In 1988 the band decided to become a Black Sabbath cover band and changed their name to Iron Man. In 1999 the band released their third studio album, ''Generation Void''. Each album has had a new line-up with Morris being the only constant throughout the years.
