Despair 1 ドイツのスラッシュメタルバンド 2 日本のインダストリアルバンド ここでは1について書く。 ドイツのスラッシュメタルバンド。1986年に結成され、1993年に解散。 著名なメンバーとして、後にSlayerのデイブ・ロンバード(Dr)と組みグルーヴ・スラッシュメタルバンド「Grip inc.」を結成したウォルデマー・ゾリクタ(Gt)が在籍し、リーダーとしてソング・ライティング、プロデュースなど行っていた。彼は現在様々なバンドのプロデュースも行っている。 他にも、Century Media Recordsの創設者、ロバート・ケンプフ(Vo)が1stアルバムに参加している。同レコード会社は、このバンドの1stアルバムをリリースするために作られたとか。 また、マーカス・フレイワルド(Dr)は、最近になって「Sodom」に加入している。 数多く存在する、B級ジャーマン・スラッシュの中からは抜け出せないまま解散してしまったが、彼らの持つ独特の展開や音色、ウォルデマーが紡ぎだす奇っ怪なギターリフは未だマニアに受けている。 「Voodoocult」「Grip inc.」というプロジェクトなどで、彼の更なる高みを聴くことができる… ディスコグラフィ History of Hate (1988)…2013年に当時のライブ音源付きで再発された Decay of Humanity (1990) Beyond All Reason (1992) .
