Rising from the ashes of Melbourne’s dormant metal scene, Decimatus formed with one intention: to make the music they love that no one else is playing. In early 2010, mixing killer groove riffs with brutal fast pace drums, Decimatus did just that. Decimation, 1999 yılında Emre ÜREN (gitar) ve Mustafa KARAKUŞ (vokal) tarafından Ankara'da kurulan brutal death metal grubudur. Kuruluştan bir süre sonra davula Kaya Özgen YALÇIN geçti ve üç kişilik bu kadroyla çalışmalar başladı. Grup çalışmalarına devam ederken aynı zamanda ikinci gitarist ve basçı arayışları da sürüyordu. Kuruluştan sonraki süre zarfında grup Kaya ile yollarını ayırırken 2003 yılında Erkin ÖZTÜRK ikinci gitara, takiben de Mert TARTAÇ bas gitara geçti. Böylece grubun çekirdek kadrosu oluşmuş oldu.
