Tesla to amerykański zespół hard rockowy, powstały w 1984 roku w Sacramento w Kalifornii, pod nazwą City Kidd. Członkowie zmienili nazwę zespołu w 1986 roku, w czasie nagrywania pierwszego albumu - Mechanical Resonance. Przyczynił się do tego menadżer zespołu, który twierdził, że z nazwą City Kidd zespół nie ma szans zaistnieć. Ostatecznie grupa otrzymała nazwę na cześć Nikoli Tesli, XIX- wiecznego wynalazcy i wizjonera, z którym związane są także tytuły albumów i utworów oraz ich teksty. Tesla Ghost is the electronic project of Luis Roig, born 1982 in Valencia, Spain. When 17 he buys an electric bass and tries to teach himself to play it (and relativelly succeeds on it). Some time later we find him playing bass in local rock/metal bands like Zeus Faber (now called Astrasomnia) and Majestica.
