Pest 5000 were a Candian indie rock band consisting of Patti Schmidt (vocals, bass), Kevin Kamoda (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Jon Ascensio (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Andy Vial (drums), Geneviève Heistek (violin, vocals) Initially known as Pest they later added the 5000 to their name and eventually shortened it down to P5K Patti Schmidt later went on to work for CBC radio on the show Brave New Waves and formed Nanobot Auxiliary Ballet with Jeff Wayne Jon Ascensio had a side project called Starbean .
