Nicholas Jonas: 発掘とソロアルバム(2000初-2005)
バンドはNicholas Jonasのソロプロジェクトから始まる。床屋で歌っている所を見出され、業界のマネジャーに紹介される。[1][2] そして間もなくNickはBroadway[3] の舞台を踏んでいた。Beauty and the Beast (2002・Chip役),[4] Annie Get Your Gun (Little Jake役), A Christmas Carol (Tiny Tim役／8才のScrooge役), Les Mis?rables (2003・Gavroche役)[5][6]などに出演。Les Mis?rables終演後はPaper Mill Playhouse[7]でThe Sound of Music ( Kurt役)に出る。
2002年、Nick は父親に捧げる歌 "Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)"を作曲。これを受けた父親は同曲を演奏し、Broadwayが毎年出しているAIDS人権キャンペーンアルバムの2002 年版Broadway's Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure, Vol. 4.[8][9][10]に収録される。2003年11月にはINO Records が、Nickが歌う"Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)"[11]のデモテープを聞く。同レーベルはクリスチャンラジオ局にこの曲をリリースし、その結果 Record & Radio's Christian Adult Contemporary Chart[9]で人気曲となる。
2004年9月には Columbia Records のエグゼクティブがNickの存在を知る。[8][9] NickはINO Records とColumbia Recordsと契約し、シングル"Dear God"[12][13]をリリースする。セカンドシングル"Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)" (performed by Nick)が11/16にリリースされる。追ってセルフタイトルのソロアルバムが12月にリリースされる予定だったが、その予定は延期。[14][15] NickはKevinとJoeと共に、アルバムのために数曲つくった。[8]
