Cultura Profética is a Puerto Rican reggae roots band. Formed in 1996, they stand out as one of the most influential bands in Latin America, touring extensively in the biggest venues of the continent. This band with eight albums independently released, is composed of 12 musicians that achieve an excellent and very sticky musical fusion, with a base headed by a rhythm of traditional roots reggae mixed with harmonies of salsa, jazz, electronica, trip hop, ska, and afro-caribbean rhythms, amongst others. Pieter Koen grew up in Standerton South-Africa. He was a member of the Drakensberg Boys Choir. He studied at Pretoria Technicon where he was a member of the music group Rondomtalies. After studying Pieter joined some of the local community radio stations as a DJ. Pieter then went on as presenter of the television program "Kunskafee" and then an announcer of the hit Kyk-net series "Kwela".Pieter released his first album in 1997 "Run with me".

PROFF's earlier releases include "My Personal Summer" which was featured on CD1 of Anjunabeats Vol.6 and "Aguilas" which has been played lately in numerous Above & Beyond dj sets and podcasts.
He collaborated with his fellow countryman, Mango, to release the track "5th in Blue", which had two separate remixes from both artists.
His recent releases from Anjunadeep include "Deep Orange" and "Glittering Puzzle", which were both included in the Anjunadeep:01 compilation.

Professor Longhair, eigentlich Henry Roeland Byrd (* 19. Dezember 1918 in Bogalusa, Louisiana; † 30. Januar 1980 in New Orleans, Louisiana), war ein US-amerikanischer Musiker, der als Sänger und Pianist den Nachkriegs-Stil der Musik New Orleans' , zumal der des Karnevals Mardi Gras, wesentlich prägte.
