Wladimir Kaminer (* 19. Juli 1967 in Moskau, Sowjetunion) ist ein deutscher Schriftsteller und Kolumnist russisch-jüdischer Herkunft. Seine Erzählbände Militärmusik und Russendisko machten ihn weit über die Grenzen Deutschlands hinweg bekannt. Kaminer schreibt alle seine Texte in deutscher Sprache und nicht in seiner Muttersprache Russisch. In 2009, three teenagers from High-Wycombe in the UK, wound up in school detention. After discovering they had a mutual love for music they decided to form a band. They quickly drafted in two other friends and took the name Coastal Cities.
