Damien Rice (* 7. Dezember 1973 in Kildare, Irland) ist ein irischer Musiker. Rice war zuerst der Sänger von Juniper, einer Rockband, die die Singles 'The World Is Dead' und 'Weatherman' veröffentlichte. Unmittelbar bevor sie ihr erstes Album für Polygram 1999 aufnehmen wollten, bemerkte Rice, in welche kommerzielle Richtung er sich von dem Label gezwungen fühlte, und er verließ die Band. Damien Robitaille (born 1982) is a french musician from the small town of Lafontaine, Ontario. Robitaille started his music career at a young age, when he started playing the piano when he was eight years old, and later in his childhood he learned to play such instruments as the trumpet, guitar and violin. Damiens was a Czech musical group, which was created in 1997 by the brothers Ladislav Křížek and Miroslav Křížek. In 1998, their single “Lásko měj se” successfully began their career. In March of 1999, their first album, “Křídla”, was released. The album was awarded with a Golden Record. It was recorded in Hannover at the house of Jan Němec. In 2000, their 2nd album, “Svět zázraků”, was released and was respectively awarded a Golden Record for the sale of 25,000 copies.
