乐队名称 Carpathian Forest 　　 乐队风格 原始黑金属 　　 隶属国家 挪威 　　 成立日期 1993年 Carpathian Forest一直被誉为少数捍卫原始黑金属的挪威乐队，这只乐队创立于黑金属开始风靡的九十年代初，论资历，也算是与Immortal、 Darkthrone同代齐名的黑暗金属元老。乐队不仅强调作品的原始本原性，而且在最近的专集中加入了Jazz和部分键盘元素，这张Defending the Throne of Evil便是十分典型的一张作品，你既可享受到黑暗金属的原始美感，又可领略到其他音效制造出的阴暗氛围。 作为乐队签约法国著名极端金属厂牌Season of mist发行的首张专集，录音效果相当出色，但是粗糙的内册设计多少给人一些遗憾（由于乐队的风格，想来也算情理之中），其中尽是乐手的尸脸扮相，而且延续这乐队一贯的黑白色调。It's Darker Than You Think以管乐开场，接着中速的节奏、同样节奏鲜明的鼓击、穿插其中的吉他小段、类似Emperor似的键盘铺垫和Nattefrost超邪恶尖嗓，使专集在一开始就抓住了你的心。此外，乐队在Skjend Hans Lik还运用了大合唱映衬着仿佛从地狱传来的嗓音，大气而粗野。而类似The Well of All Human Tears这样的慢板金属歌曲也在专集中占了一定的比重，鼓击、吉他清晰鲜明和嗓音拉长而残酷很有吸引力。Put to Sleep Like a Sick Animal !!!具有典型的挪威黑金属风格，这是乐队最拿手的，密不透风的双地鼓敲击、偏重型的金属riff，但是乐队还是不忘加入键盘效果，类似的还有Hymne Til D?den (A Hymn to Death)和Ancient Spirits of the Underworld，只是Spill the Blood of the Lamb开场的粗糙吉他旋律及作为backing vocal的深吼给人印象深刻。One With the Earth显然使人很容易想起Mayhem招牌式的中速黑暗金属编排，乐曲中段的一声狼嚎，使人不禁毛骨悚然，说这是专集中最精彩的一首毫不为过。 Carpathian Forest尝试Jazz早已不是新鲜事了，专集的最后一曲Cold Murderous Music中saxophone的演奏和时隐时现的原音吉他伴奏圆满地渲染了歌曲诡异幽暗的效果。 看着唱片中到处可见的倒十字架，就可轻易看出乐队反基督的倾向，而且歌词中四字经泛滥，虽不符合黑暗金属歌词的传统，但这对突出乐队作品的污秽、黑暗倒是必要的。 .

Druadan Forest is a project of Kalma aka v-KhaoZ aka VRTX (Ville Pallonen), former drummer of the finnish black metal band Azaghal. It plays ambient/black metal inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien work, in a way similar to Summoning and Valar. The band has released three demos between '98 and '99 and then disappeared together with Kalma himself after his departure from Azaghal. .
