Katelyn Marie Tarver (born November 2, 1989) is an American singer, who is a native of Glennville, Georgia. She first made her singing debut on the singing competion spin-off of American Idol, American Juniors, which was a compition for kids 6-13 to compete for a spot in a 5 member group. Though Katelyn didn't make the group in 2003, about a year after she got a record deal, and it all went from there.[1] She is also well known for her part in the hit nickolodeon show Big Time Rush, where she plays Kendall Knight's girlfriend, Jo Taylor. .

Born in Plano, Texas, Tarver studied at the Collin County Community College in his home town. After finishing the Quad C Theatre program, he started a gig with Chris Stokes, who's responsible for acts such as Immature, Gyrl, Monteco, and MQ3. His Virgin Records debut album featured the songs "It's You That's On My Mind" and "Dream About You". He is most remembered for his 1997 cover of Prince's "When Doves Cry", for the film Romeo + Juliet as well as his performance on the chorus of Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)". .
