David Simmons is a true artist in the making. His versatility, vocal control and inspirational lyrics are admired among many and have been categorized as "unheard of". This humble artist is what the music industry is looking for.
David started singing at the young age of 5 when given his first solo in kindergarten in his harsh reality of Omaha, NE. He then went on to continue singing and learning a few instruments to continue feeding his hunger for music. He was not a stranger to moving around the country when he found himself in Southbend, IN and became a part of his church choir. The director, Willie Berry, took a notice to David and took him under his wing to show him all things music he knew of. Next, David found himself in Memphis, TN where he became a tenor in the gospel group "Voices of Harambee". He thrived in the groups community; even given the opportunity to sing The National Anthem for the Harlem Globetrotters. He then moved to Kansas City, MO and became a lead vocalist at Shoal Creek Community Church. There he learned his versatile style and was given a framework for true artistry. David was also given the opportunity to make it as the top 200 in the casting of The Voice:Season 2. Although not making it onto the show, this was a huge accomplishment in his career.
David has dealt with much personal defeat and failure, but is very hopeful in what the future will bring to him in the industry.
