1981 senesinde Metallica’ya katılan fakat çeşitli anlaşmazlıklar sonucu gruptan çıkartılan Dave Mustaine (gitar, vokal), yanına David Ellefson (bas gitar), Greg Handevidt (gitar) ve Dijon Carruthers (davul)’ı da alarak Megadeth’i oluşturdu. Metallica’dan kovulmayı kendisine yapılan bir haksızlık olarak nitelendiren Mustaine, yeni grubuyla Metallica’dan daha hızlı bir sounda sahip olmak için çalışmalara başladı. Metallica daha tam kurulmadan evvel 1982'de çıkardığı demo albümü olan “No Life 'Til Leather” albümünde yer alan ve sözlerin çoğu Dave Mustaine'e ait olan “The Mechanix” parçasını yeniden derledi. Omega Tribe was an English anarcho-punk band, formed in the early 1980s in Barnet, North London. Their first EP, "Angry Songs", was produced by Crass Records in 1982. Omega Tribe were one of the few bands that had a much more softer, poetic and melodic style of playing that still managed to impress, educate and influence their audiences.
