Obscurant is a Finnish band that performs death metal in its more atmospheric and melodic vein. The band came into existence in late 2000 as a solo-project of Luukkainen but after songs really started coming, Obscurant slowly grew into a fulltime band with a full line-up. The line-up was completed with Luukkainen on vocals and lead guitar, Kaakkolahti on guitar, Simonen on keyboards, Honkonen on bass and Järvinen on drums. Luna Obscura’s vision has always been to create a mixture of Heavy, Atmospheric, Melodic and yet above all challenging music. In May 2004, LO released their first demo album under the name “Darcanda”. Produced and mixed by Steve Dickins and Dimitris Papachristos at STV Studios. Received great reviews from numerous European Metal Magazines and soon Enclave Records proposed “With My Demons I’ll Celebrate My Fall” to be feautured in their compilation cd. Alman teknik death metal grubu. 2002'de gitarist/vokalist Steffen Kummerer ve davulcu Jonas Baumgartl tarafından kuruldu. 2006'da debut albümleri "Retribution" çıktı. Aynı sene Amerikan brutal death metal devi Suffocation'a Avrupa turnesinde eşlik ettiler. Birkaç kadro değişikliğinden sonra 2007'nin sonlarında eski Pestilence basçısı Jeroen Paul Thesseling ve eski Necrophagist davulcusu Hannes Grossmann grubun kadrosuna daimi elemanlar olarak dahil oldu. Son olarak yine eski bir Necrophagist elemanı olan gitarist Christian Muenzner'ı da yanlarına alan grup kadrosuna son şeklini vermiş oldu.
