Amerikan Metalcore grubudur. Lancaster, Pennsylvania'da mart 2003'de lise yıllarında kurulmuştur. Grubun ismi eski ve ilk vokali Jon Hershey tarafından lanse edilmiştir. Jon Hershey'in August adında kız arkadaşı vardır, Ayrıca Redd adında bir köpeği vardır. Kız arkadaşıyla ayrıldıktan sonra kız arkadaşı Jon Hershey'in bahçesine gizlice girer ve köpeğinin kulübesini ateşe verir. Ertesi gün okul gazetesinde "August Burns Redd" diye haber başlığı olur. Grubun ismi buradan gelmektedir. Jon Hershey ayrıldıktan sonra vokal görevini 2 sene boyunca Josh McManness üstlenmiştir. August Actually was an apocalyptic folk-rock four-piece from Nottingham, UK, who formed in March 2011 and went on hiatus in January 2015. Originally a 6-piece, over their four year career they released a 5 song EP (Songs From the Lighthouse), a double A-side single (Werewolf/Vampire), and, in January 2015, their debut album The Forever War which features 11 tracks from across the band's live career. Augustyn Bloch, the composer and organist, was born on 13th of August 1929 in Grudziadz. He was an organ student of Feliks Raczkowski and a composition student of Tadeusz Szeligowski at the National Higher School of Music (nowadays the Academy of Music) in 1950-5 and 1952-9, respectively.
