Nadia Mladjao, better known by her stage name Imany, is an Afro-soul singer. She was born in the French Comoros Islands in 1979. From the Comores, her 'stage name,' ' Imany,' means 'Faith,' in Swahili.
As a youth, she was a successful athlete, doing high jump, later becoming a model for the Ford Models Europe, agency. She went to the United States for six years, before coming back to France, when she started her singing career. Currently, she lives between The States and France. .
Death of an Artist (Also known as DOAA) started writing melodic/post-hardcore music in April 2009. After gaining a bass player in August 2009 and a screamer in Jan 2010, the band have changed their sound from completely melodic post-hardcore, to a more heavier, epic edge. Taking influences from underoath, saosin, emarosa, thrice, and alexisonfire, this band has used different styles into their music to create a heavy, yet melodic sound. Having everything from epic vocals, to heavy beat-downs.
