But for the most part their public appearances (and subsequent popularity) have been limited. This can be attributed to a number of things: the waning popularity of poppy rap and the decreasing amount of SM Entertainment's PR power (which since 2004 has focused on a few core groups and singers). Ellegarden was a Japanese Rock group formed in December 1998 in Chiba, Japan that includes drummer Hirotaka Takahashi, vocalist Takeshi Hosomi, guitarist Shinichi Ubakata, and bassist Yuichi Takada. Background The English lyrics of the band's songs, which are mostly written by Takeshi, are usually grammatically sound and well pronounced.
