Kilima Hawaiians is a Dutch band, which got started by Bill Buysman in 1934 as "Kilima Hawaiian Trio". In 1936 he was joined by his wife Mary Buysman. They had their first recordings in 1941, which made them already quite successful in a very short time. In 1942 bass player Wim van Herpen joined the trio and the band changed name to "The Kilima Hawaiians". Under this new setting they had their greatest moments of success, during the late 1940s and 1950s. They got back into the picture in the late 1960s when they were exclusively signed by CBS/Artone. The Hawaiian Pups were a rare, not widely known about New Wave/ Electronic group from the 1980's which formed in the New York Metropolitan Area. The group is currently working on a new album. However, there is no known date as to when it will be released. Portrait Records signed The Hawaiian Pups and released: Split Second Precision (LP) 12" EP, and it first came out in 1983. The Blue Hawaiians are a surf-rock group from Los Angeles. They formed in 1994 to play at the opening of their friend Michelle's club, The Lava Lounge. They rose to fame soon thereafter due to the rise of one of their earliest fans, Quentin Tarantino, and an appearance on the soundtrack of the hit TV show Friends. The group have since released several albums which have generally fared well with critics. The band also does music for the hit cartoon series "SpongeBob SquarePants".
