Basement Jaxx, İngiliz house ikilisi Felix Burton ve Simon Ratcliffe'den oluşuyor. İkili Londra'nın Brixton semtinde 1994 yılında çalışmalarına başladı. Rooty adında bir periyodik gece düzenleyen Basement Jaxx daha sonra bu etkinliğin ismini ikinci albümlerinde kullandılar. İsimlerini ise Simon'ın evinin bodrumundaki stüdyoda yaptıkları kayıtlardan dolayı Basement Jaxx olarak seçmişler.
Ünü ve başarısı hızla büyüyen grup 2005 yılında İngilitere'nin en önemli festivallerinden Glastonbury'de Kylie Minogue ile headliner idi. 2006'da ise Robbie Williams ile turladılar. .

1) The Four Horsemen were a band that had brief popularity in the late 1980's and early 1990's. They were based out of Hollywood California. Their 1st full-length CD, called "Nobody Said It Was Easy", was produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin.
Their fame was fleeting but full of tragedy. Their original drummer Dimwit passed away from a drug overdose on September 27, 1994. Frank C. Starr was killed by a drunk driver while driving his motorcycle down Sunset Strip.

Chastisement was a melodic death metal band from Östersund, Sweden.
Marcus Edvardsson and Fredrik Magnusson began playing seriously in 1995 when the formed Chastisement. Fredrik was told of drummer Nils Fjellstrom, whom he promptly contacted. After a few lineup changes, and the resignation of Fredrik, the lineup has remained stable.
