The Cansecos are Bill Halliday and Gareth Jones with Paul Prince and Dan McCormick filling out the band on stage. The Cansecos are on the Toronto based Upper Class label, headed by Jones. Though their initial self-titled release draws from many genres, their music is characterised by indie rock lyrics, dance beats, and DIY production techniques wrapped in a standard pop format. Their sound has been compared to Manitoba and label-mates The Russian Futurists. .

These 5 boys from São Paulo, Brazil, play a heavy-experimental-oriented-pop-for-the-indie-masses; despite their sarcastic genre orientation, they can also feel - and go through dramatic conflicts and tears: they have just changed their formation, after playing together since 2002. The band is now formed by Daniel Akashi (guitar/vocal), Davi Rodriguez (drums/vocal), Gustavo Martins (guitar/keys/vocal), Rodrigo de Pizzol (guitar/effects/vocal) and Vinicius Favaretto (bass/vocal).
