1993 senesinde Floridalı iş adamı Lou Pearlman'ın New Kids On The Block ile gelişen erkek grubu populeritesine karşılık oluşturduğu Backstreet Boys, ilk kadrosunda Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Alexander James McLean, Sam Licata ve Charles Edwards'ı bulunduruyordu.
