Grup, Almanya'da yaşayan gitar/vokal Muhammed Suiçmez tarafından kurulmuştur. 1992 yılında Almanya'nın Karlsruhe şehrinde müzik piyasasına giriş yapmıştır... 2 adet demo 2 de stüdyo albümleri bulunmaktadır. Grup elemanları bir araya geldikten kısa bir süre sonra stüdyoya kapanıp ilk demo kasetleri “Requiems of Festered Gore”u kaydetti. Fakat bu demo hiç yayınlanmadı, sadece promosyon amacı ile gerekli yerlere gönderildi. 1995 yılında tekrar stüdyoya giren grup kendi adını taşıyan bir demo kaydetti. Avrupa’nın underground death metal alemine bomba gibi düşen bu demo sadece Necrophagist’e şöhret kazandırmakla kalmadı, gruba Avrupa’da vereceği bir çok konserin önünü açtı.
