blackened deathcore | tl

Blackened deathcore is an amalgamation of black metal and deathcore, to varying degrees. While it isn't fundamentally very different from traditional deathcore, it tends to employ more treble and delay in the riffs to give it a "blackened" feel, and often uses symphonic black metal-style keys/synth and shrieked vocals heavily. Blackened deathcore bands are often influenced by blackened death metal, traditional black metal and technical death metal artists, along with the expected deathcore/metalcore influences. Frozen Water Burial and To Kill For are examples of this fusion genre. Some bands, like Abigail Williams, A Hill to Die Upon and Dark Lay Still, used to play a decidedly blackened deathcore style, but have since progressed to a blackened death metal sound. .
