Frieda Hempel (26 June 1885 – 7 October 1955) was a celebrated German soprano singer in operatic and concert work who had an international career in Europe and the United States. Frieda Hempel was born in Leipzig, Germany, and studied first at the Leipzig Conservatory and afterwards at Stern conservatory, Berlin, where she was a pupil of Selma Nicklass-Kempner. Jessie Mae Hemphill (18th October 1934 – 22nd July 2006), was a pioneering electric guitarist, songwriter, and singer, specialising in the northern Mississippi country blues traditions of her family and regional heritage. Claus Hempler is a Danish singer-songwriter. In 1981 he started the band Fielfraz with Nils Brakchi (bass) and Kenneth Priisholm (guitar). As a solo artist, Claus Hempler has released the coveralbum "Charm School for Pop Singers" (1999) and the rock albums "Hempler" (2004) and "Return of the Yes Man" (2007). He has also been guest vocalist on albums by other Danish artists such as Nikolaj Nørlund and Dicte.
