Jamaican vocal trio the Kingstonians were formed around 1966 by Jackie Bernard and his brother Footy, along with mutual friend Lloyd Kerr. They began their recording career with producer J.J. Johnson, but had their greatest success between 1968 and 1970 with producer Derrick Harriott, who helped steer the singles "Singer Man" and "Sufferer" to the top of the Jamaican charts. An LP of the Harriott material was released in 1970 under the title Sufferer, and it remains a wonderful example of rocksteady right at the point where it began to tip over into early reggae. Ron Kingston is recognized as one of Australia’s most articulate and individual voices, with a career that has encompassed recording, performing and writing songs and has enjoyed an international musical career spanning 10 years and over 15 countries worldwide. Ron's apparent passion for music was noticed during his high school years. Influenced by such artists as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, the group combined eastern themes, mysticism and vivid psychedelia with their unique, hard-edged acid-rock. Group members were Petri "Pete" Walli (guitar, vocals), Jukka Jylli (bass) and Sami Kuoppamäki (drums, percussion). During their existence, Kingston Wall released only three self-financed albums on their own label, Trinity. The albums were Kingston Wall (also known as I) in 1992, II in 1993 and Tri-Logy in 1994. The group was disbanded by Petri Walli in December 1994....
After years spent on the road delighting fans across the country with a smooth palatable brand of rock, Kingston Falls are settling in this winter to write their debut album for Facedown Records. The Goshen, IN quintet are as straight forward about their sound as they are about their perceived mission. It’s easy to imagine once you’ve heard Kingston Falls’ new songs that they believe deeply in the music that they make, an idea that in itself isn’t all that novel. What separates them from the rest is the sense of intimacy they get from their fans and the feeling...
