Pachora is a four-piece, NYC based group featuring Brad Shepik (Tiny Bell Trio) on guitar-like instruments, Chris Speed (Tim Berne's Bloodcount, John Hollenbeck's Claudia Quintet) on clarinet, Jim Black (Tiny Bell Trio, Tim Berne's Bloodcount) on drums, and Skuli Sverrisson (Allan Holdsworth, Blonde Redhead) on bass. The band plays compositions rooted in traditional Mediterranean music (ei. music of Greece, the Balkans, etc...). Tight grooves and uncanny musicianship make this a very listenable introduction to world music. .
