In the aftermath of the drone/ambient sound project Ora's breakup a couple of years back, all of the principle voices from that loose British collective have been producing an amazing array of translations of the drone through a variety of improvisations, field recordings, and electronic synthesis. Kimonos was formed in 2010 by Leo Imai and Shutoku Mukai from Zazen Boys. Their music is a blend of vintage synths, post-punk riffs, heavy beats, and half Japanese, half English Lyrics. Both cold and passionate, both stoical and decadent, both futuristic and nostalgic, their debut album is a fitting soundtrack to the manic intensity of Tokyo City. Monospore is a Danish based band formed in the fall of 2009. Members and founders of the band are Jannik Vittrup and Søren Brandstrup.
