Belvedere was a canadian melodic punk/hardcore band formed in 1995. Originally not meant to play a show, they gained a cult following in Canada's punk scene. Known for their blazing technical speed and melodic vocals, the band also appeared on the Warped Tour and Groezrock Festival bills. Taking their name from the '80s sitcom, Belvedere began in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1995 as the three-piece of Steve Rawles (guitar/vocals), Brock (bass), and Dan Hrynuik (drums). As the years progressed along with their revolving lineup, Belvedere remained with their melodic pop-punk sound that looked up to the likes of Bad Religion...
There are at least three artists called The Belvederes. 1.) A doo-wop band from Chicago, later renamed to The Norvells 2.) A bluegrass band that has been playing the jam, blues, and bluegrass festival circuit for at least a decade. 3.) An indie band from Orange County, CA who can be found at http://myspace.com/thebelvederes, headed by former Suburban Legends lead singer Tim Maurer. .
