Group Laimas Muzykanti is established in October 1995. Together with a couple of people who shared the same views it was based by the actual band leader Artūrs Uškāns (Arturs Ushkans).
Initially the band was formed as folklore ensemble but with the time there were experients with the sounds of ethnic music instruments matching them with rock instruments. In the band were involved the most distinguished rock musicians of Latgale. As a result the band created specific music style named ethnorock.

Laima Jansone is an improvisation, electroacoustic and folk musician and composer from Rīga, Latvia.
She is among the leading virtuoso performers of the Latvian ethnographic lute, with an acknowledged talent in the art of improvisation. Presently, Jansone is a student of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy and has been further developing her skills in various master classes such as at Nortrad Ark '09 (Finland) where she advanced her knowledge of the traditional Finnish Kantele and studied improvisation with Pauliina Syrjälä.
