Those Who Ride With Giants is the pseudonym of MJ Callaghan, a musician, illustrator and animator based out of Sydney, Australia. Creating a musical style of instrumental art rock, his art has been influenced by other artists such as Caspian, This Will Destroy You, Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai. The most recent release “Numinous” is a continuation of the first release “Those Who Ride With Giants” EP, an emotional adventure following the story of a seafaring voyage, and the encounters it experiences along the way. .
FTWK was formed in Austin, TX in 2003 with Stephen Hablinski on vocals and guitar, Rick Vehslage on guitar, James Vehslage on drums and Alan Barrett on bass. Channeling the spirits of post punk rock and pure psychedelic shoegaze pop, For Those Who Know brings forth a hypnotic blend of beautiful songwriting with a love for digital/analog oblivion. Comparisons have been made to the Jesus and Mary Chain, New Order, and Sonic Youth. The band recorded part of their debut EP in October of 2004 with engineer Erik Wofford (The Black Angels, Voxtrot, Octopus Project, Snowden, etc.) at Cacophony Recorders...
