Oriental Metal is used to describe music where Middle-Eastern and Arabic music is used in conjunction with Heavy Metal or one of its many subgenres. It is not a subgenre in itself as Oriental Metal bands are often rooted in starkly different metal subgenres. For example, Melechesh blends Middle-Eastern music with Death Metal, while Odious does so with Black Metal. .
