Jon Butcher is an American rock and blues singer and guitarist and freelance multimedia producer. A Jimi Hendrix disciple... Jon Butcher achieved some moderate chart success in the mid-'80s as the singer/guitarist for the Jon Butcher Axis. Coming out of the Boston club scene in the early '80s, the Butcher Axis (which also included members Chris Mann on bass and Derek Blevins on drums), issued such albums as 1983's self-titled debut, 1984's Stare at the Sun, and 1985's Along the Axis (Butcher dropped the Axis for such releases as 1986's Wishes and 1989's Pictures From the Front), opened for local...
A successful Scottish pop/rock group, originally called Dean Ford & the Gaylords, they released several unsuccessful singles between 1964 and 1966 before changing their name. They enjoyed their greatest success up to this point with The Beatles', "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" which topped the UK singles chart in January 1969. After a change of record label to Decca Records, under a deal allowing them to write and produce their...

After finding acclaim in the Sapporo punk scene, the band left for Tokyo along with many others in search of greater success. Their first three albums were characterized by Yoshimura's haphazard guitar playing, aggressive shouting and expansive, wandering song structures. The group attracted the attention of foreign acts such as Fugazi and Rage Against The Machine, and...
The Jazz Butcher Conspiracy, also known as The Jazz Butcher and The Jazz Butcher And His Sikkorskis From Hell, is a blackly humorous and (until the early nineties) prolific British musical group founded by Pat Fish, a philosophy major from Oxford. Their oeuvre boasts such topics as Thomas Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49, an unrequited crush on Shirley Maclaine, and an ode to SF writer Harlan Ellison. .
