Asami Izawa was born on November 11th, 1982 in Tokyo, Japan. She began pursuit of a musical career at the age of 18, when she began to write songs. She debuted with an indies release, a single called "Power of Ring", on March 3rd, 2004, with the record label Village-A. All songs on the single were written and composed by her. She also sent in a demo tape to Sony Music Japan, and staff were stunned by her excellent vocals. She was immediately taken under Sony Music Japan and started work on her debut mini album, "AIA".
