Shower was formed in Estonia in 1989 after the dissolution of Varaan, a heavy metal band lead by Tamur Marjasoo. The power trio's debut demo "Brain Piracy" (1990) has undoubtedly been a big influence for a generation of Estonian metal bands. They disbanded in 2001 but are since reformed (2007) and are currently semi-active, having re-released their two first albums "Brain Piracy" (1990) and "Humiliator" (1992) in the December 2007 and playing occasional gigs. Their current lineup is: * Tamur Marjasoo - Vocals, Guitar * Mart Karu - Guitar (Decease, Echosilence; also did session work for Shower in 2000) *...
Cold Showers, a band formed in Los Angeles, CA in 2010, fuses the brash power of the shoegazers with the smoky compulsions of the no-wavers—Cold Showers would fit comfortably within the dusty catalog of Factory Records, if only for an industrial subtlety in terms of electronics and acoustics. A piston-precision rhythm section drives all these loud, crafty pop songs. This is the pervasive pop mode against which Cold Showers cast themselves, but they aren’t fired in steel to the darkside. Founding members Jonathan Weinberg, Jessie Clavin, Brian Davila, Renee Adams and Chris King, added since, have a lumbering, sometimes terrifying...
There are two artists using this name. April Showers were a short-lived Glaswegian pop duo comprised of Jonathan Bernstein and Beatrice Colin. This quality was echoed on B-side "Everytime We Say Goodbye" with the 12-inch featuring an instrumental of Abandon Ship "Abandon Ship Sing-A-Long-A-Wonder Mix". Both records are now highly collectible. Plans to release a second single on the label Operation Twilight, and the...
Shower With Goats existed as part of the NJPP (New Jersey Pop Punk) scene from 1994-2000. They were well known for their unique blend of raw, upbeat punk tunes backed with emphatic vocals. There really was never an “SWG sound”. Their influences ranged from many bands including Fifteen, Face To Face, Quit, Big Drill Car, All, Rhythm Collision, and even Crass on occasion. They originally formed from the remains of an old band called M.N.F.S.T., and went on to release several 7” records, 1 full length, and copious unreleased tracks on scattered compilation releases. Shower With Goats frontman and founder,...
