Barış Manço (also spelt Baris Mancho or Baris Manco in some European album releases) (1943 -1999) was a Turkish singer, composer, and television producer. Manço was born on 2nd January 1943 in Istanbul. His mother, Rikkat Uyanık, had been a famous singer in the early 1940s. His older brother, who was born during World War II, was named Savaş ("war" in Turkish) while he was named Barış ("peace" in Turkish) by his parents to celebrate the end of the war. Candiria is a band from Brooklyn, New York. They blend various styles of music including metal, hardcore, jazz, and rap. Candiria have often dubbed their sound "Urban fusion". Candiria was initially formed in 1992 by vocalist Carley Coma, guitarists Chris Puma and Eric Matthews, drummer Kenneth Schalk, and bassist Michael MacIvor. Even early on they were creating unusual music, with vocals that ranged from dry barks to rap. Hüsnü Şenlendirici (b. 1976) is a Turkish clarinettist. Born on 12th July 1976 in Bergama, Turkey, Şenlendirici comes from a family rooted deeply in musical culture. His grandfather, Hüsnü Şenlendirici, was also a clarinettist, and his other grandfather and his father played the trumpet. He started playing clarinet when he was five years old, and attended the Turkish State Music Conservatory at Istanbul University in 1988 at the age of twelve, although he dropped out four years later.
