Skillet is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, consisting of all Christian members. Skillet formed in 1996 with two members: John Cooper, former vocalist for Tennessee progressive rock band Seraph, and Ken Steorts, former guitarist for Urgent Cry. The two bands met through touring together, but those bands disbanded soon after, so John and Ken's pastor encouraged them to form their own band as a side-project. At least ten bands have gone by the name of Memento Mori: 1) Memento Mori was a Swedish doom metal band with power metal influences. The band was founded by Messiah Marcolin and Mike Wead in 1992 after Messiah left Candlemass. The sound can be described as a mixture between Messiah's former band and Wead's other band Hexenhaus. Mauricio "Moris" Birabent was born in 1942 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is one of the first argentine musicians. Moris created Los Beatniks, and recorded the first argentine rock single ever: "Rebelde". He also wrote "Ayer Nomás", which became popular by the band Los Gatos by Litto Nebia.
