Leon T. Gross (September 14, 1912 or 1916 – January 8, 1973), who performed and recorded as Archibald, was an influential American rhythm and blues pianist and singer who had a hit in 1950 with "Stack-A-Lee", a version of "Stagger Lee". Gross was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and learned piano as a child. Archibald MacLeish (May 7, 1892 – April 20, 1982) was an American poet, writer, and the Librarian of Congress. He is associated with the Modernist school of poetry. He received three Pulitzer Prizes for his work. Early years MacLeish was born in Glencoe, Illinois. His father, Andrew MacLeish, worked as a dry goods merchant.
