One of the pioneering “cumbia villera” groups from Argentina among other similar groups, such as Damas Gratis or Mala Fama. Fronted by Ariel "El Traidor" Salinas, they marked the revolution of the “Cumbia Villera” genre, an argentinian shantytown version of the classic tropical cumbia, mixed with lyrics treating sensitive subjects such as prostitution, drug addiction or crime. “Cumbia villera” and Pibes Chorros became massively popular, most importantly amongst the argentinian lower class.
