At first taste, The Dimes may remind you of an old piece of peppermint candy you found in the pocket of a sweater that’s been hiding in the back of your closet. Initially you hesitate, but then you take a bite and suddenly your mouth is exploding with a cool, fresh, minty flavor that makes you feel like you just brushed your teeth.
When not rehearsing or recording, you may find the guys loitering in the North Mississippi neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, where Pierre has been sighted carrying on long conversations with himself. Please be patient with him. .

Three of the four members of Dimesland are also in a great band called Wild Hunt [who also recently got a Tepedelen stemp of approvel]. So what we have here is cool little organization with five people comprising two groups. Also within Dimesland are associations with The Residents and The Samps.

Jim Korthe, lead singer for rap-rockers 3rd Strike, grew up in San Pedro, California. Along with his friend, guitarist Todd Deguchi, the two put together a makeshift lineup for 3rd Strike, but between several unsuccessful tours and Korthe's personal problems the band disbanded during the 1990s. In 1996 Korthe and Deguchi released 1 cd under the name of Dimestore Hoods. .
