kimono is an experimental rock trio hailing from Reykjavik, Iceland and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Their lastest album is called "Easy Music For Difficult People" and is released on Kimi Records. kimono is made up of Gylfi Blöndal(guitar), Alison MacNeil (guitar and vocals) and Kjartan Bragi Bjarnason (drums). Kimonos was formed in 2010 by Leo Imai and Shutoku Mukai from Zazen Boys. Their music is a blend of vintage synths, post-punk riffs, heavy beats, and half Japanese, half English Lyrics. Both cold and passionate, both stoical and decadent, both futuristic and nostalgic, their debut album is a fitting soundtrack to the manic intensity of Tokyo City. Franek Kimono is a fictional character which was meant to be a polish version of Bruce Lee. It was created by Andrzej Korzyński, while Piotr Fronczewski (famous actor) played the role of martial-arts master from Poland. The first EP, containing hits like "King Bruce Lee - Karate Mistrz" and "Dysk-Dżokej", saw daylight in 1983, and due to its great succes the first long-play was released a year later.
