Band Members: Basem: Solo, Rhythm Guitar Majdi: Bass Guitar Tarik: Rhythm Guitar Gago:Vocalist Zizo:Drummer After quitting a band project with other guys in Benghazi-Libya in 1998, Basem and Majdi started the band Tasnim which was – musically speaking – kind of an amalgamation between Death-Metal and Middle Eastern/ North African music. The idea that Basem had in mind was to create something melodic, powerful and representing the culture they come from. The name Tasnim which was picked up by Majdi is a Quranic name of a spring in Paradise, and again, it would be another reference to their cultural background....

Kvalda, a Finnish jazz ensemble, combines lucid Scandinavian jazz and free expression into a fresh and modern blend of music. It is characteristic of the quartet to diffuse the boundaries of improvisation and composition - as if the musicians were on an eventful journey, delivering its adventures, colours and tastes to the listeners. Kvalda won the inter-Nordic competition Young Nordic Jazz Comets 2004 - the final was held at Stockholm Jazz Festival. The quartet, formed in autumn 2002, has experience of several performances both in Finland and abroad. Kvalda has released three albums, Kvalda (2004), Leia (2007) and Blindfold (2011)....
