Son Goku entstanden auf dem M.A.R.S. (Moderne Anstalt Rigoroser Spakker). Eine Kommune in der idyllischen Eifel. Auf dem Album "Mars Musik", das von den dort lebenden Interpreten zusammen getragen wurde, hat sich bereits die Richtung gezeigt, welche auch Son Goku einschlagen wollen. Der Welt sollen die wesentlichen Dinge im Leben wie Harmonie, Frieden, Liebe und der Wert der Natur gezeigt werden. Der Bandname stammt aus einer japanischen Comicserie und enthält auch ein wenig Philosophie. Son Goku ist ein Held, der die Aufgabe hat, die Welt vor dem Untergang zu retten. 8bit Pipe's story begins in 2007. Six people teamed up to creatively blend computer-based sounds (especially 8-bit ones, reminiscent of the golden age of consoles) with each member's particular tastes and influences. Video games, art, rock and the bizarre were all mixed up in this whimsical constructive clash. With an obvious reference to the golden era of Nintendos and Amigas, 8bit Pipe makes reference to the game world both in sound and imagery, searching continually to expand the possibilities of electronics in its unique take on rock 'n' roll. In 2010 Maya '8Bitch' Medvesek's work has been critically acclaimed by FACT, Wire, Mixmag and XLR8R magazines plus has released successful remixes of Terror Danjah, Samuel and the dragon and Dam Mantle amongst others.
