Canon Blue released his debut album on Rumraket, a label based in Denmark, on 17 September 2007. The album was called Colonies and was re-mixed by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, mastered by Christian Vogel. Daniel James, the genius behind Canon Blue, signed with Rumraket in June. MySpace .
Canonis is a Russian gothic/ethereal band. They appeared in a few Russian gothic compilations and released just a demo, but they are definitely worth being given a listen. The Minor Canon began as Paul Larson's "solo project". Larson was a member of the band Strictly Ballroom - a group that also included Jimmy Tamborello (Postal service/Figurine/Dntel), Chris Gunst (Beachwood Sparks/Mystic Chords of Memory) and Jimi Hay (Rapture/All night radio/Tristeza). Larson also fronted the band Athalia, records and plays with Dntel(Life is Full of Possibilities), and has recorded with others including Beachwood Sparks (Make The Cowboys Robots Cry), Azure Ray ("New Resolution" Dntel-remix), Nobody (Pacific Drift) and Languis (Four Walls). .
Canons are a new band formed in Port Jefferson Station, New York in 2009. Starting when two different splintered bands (Myles Dyson, Retard Peep Booth) joined forces, after years of talking about it and various start-up groups in between. Drinking lots of beer to create their own sound, mixing elements of stoner rock, post metal and hardcore - taking influence from bands such as His Hero Is Gone, EYEHATEGOD, Tragedy, Fall of Efrafa, Goatsnake, Floor, Cavity, Electric Wizard and Converge.
