The "Legendary" Moonflowers were the funkiest bunch of hippies ever to walk planet earth and formed in Bristol, England, UK in the late 1980's (1987 to be exact). Mixing punk, funk, reggae, rock, jazz, disco and psychedelia they injected a heavy does of fun into their music and gave Bristol a much needed kick up the behind after years of dull indie strumming had put the populace into a stupor. Moonflower was (is) 1.) a pop/rock band from the Utrecht area in The Netherlands, that existed from 1993 to 1999. During their six year career span, they released two albums, being "The Real Thing" (1994, Columbia) and "Shelter" (1996, Epic). Musically, Moonflower leans heavily towards semi-acoustic adult contemporary and indie rock and female US rock singers of the mid and late 1990s. Therefore, the band's music can best be compared to that of Sheryl Crow, 4 Non Blondes, Alanis Morissette, Heather Nova, Michelle Branch, The Sundays and the otherwise relatively unknown Norwegian girl band The Tuesdays.
