Othala is a neofolk band from Mosely, Denmark. The band exists since 2000 and consist of Bo Pierre Bolander and Thomas Galinn Priiskorn. Othala started as an alternative project to the underground black metal band Arven in which both members played. Othala is their effort to create a musical representation of the interests and reflections they have on the soul and beliefs of the Norse culture. Othala is the name of the last and 24th rune in the Elder Futhark. The meaning of the rune, regardless of how it is specifically interpreted, revolves around the same general values.
