The members of this Russian duo, Max K. (keyboards, music, sampling, market rituals) and Leonid M. (drums, programming, sound engineering, electronic manipulations) reside in Moscow and have been involved in electronic music since 1997. Ansambli eluaja jooksul olid seal Heigo Mirka, Toomas Kõrvits, Vello Salumets, Neeme Ninnas, Harry Kõrvits, Henry Kirspuu ja Reinhard Kristiansen helitehnikuna. Optimistid olid erilised mitme asja pärast. Esiteks polnud musitseerimine neile ainult hobi eest, vaid see oli ka elatise teenimise allikas.
