History
Early years
The Skints formed as school friends in 2005 at Woodbridge High School (London).The band hail from the Leyton/Walthamstow and South Woodford/Woodford areas of northeast London. A heavily Grunge influenced outfit led by ex-BAM BAM BOYS, JAGGED EDGE and Scott Gorham's WESTERN FRONT vocalist Matti Alfonzetti, having returned home to Sweden Alfonzetti recorded demos with TALISMAN before uniting with erstwhile ERRATIC TALE guitarist George Bravo, a Chilean exile, to form SKINTRADE. Skintone were an Irish musical duo during the 1990's. They were based in Bray. They released one album, In Slow Motion and their best-known track, Lennox Avenue Butterfly featured on several contemporary ambient and chill-out compilations, along with artists like The Orb, Soundlab, Röyksopp and Groove Armada. They were one of the relatively few Irish electronic acts in the 1990's.
Their debut (and indeed only) album was released on Peak Records, a small Dublin-based record company which appears to have disappeared in 1996, judging by their website's last update.
