Parallels - это холодный, космическо-ледяной синтипоп из Канады с романтическим девичьим вокалом в духе АББЫ и ранней Мадонны. Основан коллектив в 2008 году в Торонто экс-барабанщиком канадской электро-панк-группы Crystal Castles Кэмероном Финдлей. При этом музыка Parallels не имеет ничего общего с агрессивным 8-битовым звучанием Crystal Castles. The story of Parallel Universe began at the end of 2007 when Damir Puh had an idea to put together a band that would play instrumental rock music. Daniel Rujkov was the first to join the band, as a bass player. Damir and Daniel knew each other as they both played in a same band before, they shared similar musical tastes, so the collaboration in the new project was evident. Soon after this, Dejan Stanojevic joined the band as a second guitar player, followed by Damir Ibraimoski on drums.

The 41st parallel runs an imaginary course from New York to Naples, Italy, where reside Julia Kent and Barbara De Dominicis, respectively. Therefore, you could say they are both on the same geographical wavelength. However, they also share the same musical wavelength, as they are both quite fond of delicate ambiances, loops, and spontaneity.
Cellist Julia Kent weaves dense sonic fabrics using real-time looping techniques she truly masters. Poet/singer/electronic artist Barbara De Dominicis likes to integrate live-treated field recordings to her inspired vocal improvisations.
