During the year 2001 Lowdown was formed by a group of metal loving friends. There were few metal bands around in our area at that time and we became one of the first. We wanted to make music with extreme intensity and passion. Music you can feel! We started recording a couple of demos over a one-year period, and soon gained a local fan base. After our first gig, that is when we really got the attention. We signed up for the annual "Norwegian battle of the bands" in our hometown. We competed with 36 other bands, and yes, Lowdown...
Slowdown Virginia (1993-1995) was an indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska, on Lumberjack Records, the predecessor to today's Saddle Creek records. Slowdown Virginia's birth could best be categorized as a nebulous evolution from The March Hares, (another Omaha band) when in 1993, Matt Oberst and Jim Robino parted ways with The March Hares, leaving Steve Pedersen and Tim Kasher to assume guitar and vocal duties respectively within the new group. Constantin Gillies played the violin in his adolescence but soon left his music stand deserted when he became the bass player of a punk band.
