No Natal de 2000 , João (guitarra base),
Trolio(voz),red(baixo),Juninho(guitarra solo) e Tunder(bateria),músicos e
moradores do bairro de Inhaúma, juntaram-se para tocar Rock in Roll no
terreno de um vizinho(padre).A maioria do repertório eram músicas
próprias , que contavam o cotidiano da vizinhança de uma forma muito
irreverente.O Show resultou no convite para tocar no evento todas as
tribus em um clube em Olaria, porém a banda não tinha ainda um nome e
para homenagear um amigo (Yure) que possuía um apelido um tanto
estranho, Trólio resolveu chamar a banda pelo mesmo nome Neanderthal.

The Neanderthals are four numbskulls who claim to be real Cavemen! They dress up in leopard skin furs and play silly looking longhorn guitars to get their trashy sound. When asked to describe their "music" one dimwitted member explained "Duh,I dunno it's just rock'n'roll."
Their "music" actually is a primitive stomping rock 'n' roll reminiscent of 60's garage frat-rockers The Sonics and The Trashmen with a little Chuck Berry and Link Wray thrown in. They sing about girls in hot rods and monsters in spaceships. No poetic introspection or post modern angst here.
